I was born and raised in the northeast and have spent most of my adult life in North Carolina and Texas. I was educated at Lake Erie College, the Universite de Dijon, Kent State University and the University of Texas at Austin, where I received my doctorate in Counseling Psychology. I did my internship at the University of Texas and the Austin State Hospital. I’ve taught psychology and adult learning skills at the University of Texas, St. Edwards University, and at Texas State University – often working with high risk students. For many years, I worked part-time at the Counseling and Psychological Services Center at the University of Texas and I was also an administrator of a research center at Texas State University. For many years I was a director of several programs with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. I have always maintained a private practice in San Marcos.
In 1997, I retired from my work at the state level and entered full time private practice with the Cedar Creek Associates. Here, I work with adolescents, adults, and families. I consult with businesses. Currently, my availability is part time. In my leisure hours, I spend time with my family, in gardening, and I love to read.
