I received a Bachelor degree from the University of Texas at Austin with a double major in English and Government. I did my doctoral work at the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles (currently Alliant University). After completing my course work, I stayed in the southern California area for two internships (one at the University of California – Riverside Counseling Center and the other at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sepulveda). I then worked for several years in a group practice as a psychological assistant (Foothills Psychological Associates in Upland, California). I returned to the central Texas area to complete my licensure in Texas. I have worked in this area ever since.
As a psychologist, I first worked for three years as a staff psychologist with Riverwood Professional Center, an outpatient clinic of the San Marcos Treatment Center. In December 1991, I established my private practice. Along with several of my colleagues from Riverwood, I started Cedar Creek Associates where we continue to have our offices.
For many years, I divided my professional time between consulting with school systems and private practice. For the past twenty-five years, I was a consulting psychologist with the Caldwell County Special Education Cooperative. At Cedar Creek, I have a broad, general private practice. I see school-age children, adolescents, and adults. I deal with a broad range of issues – including behavioral and emotional problems in children and adolescence, depression and other mood disorders, struggles in dealing with life difficulties, and marital/couples problems. In addressing all these problems, I use a very practical, collaborative approach
In my private life, I enjoy family activities. I am a sports fan (but not as much as in my earlier years). I am also an avid reader and movie-goer.
