Lisa Trahan, PhD

Hello and welcome.

The focus of my practice is the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders in adults. In addition, I have a special interest in coping with chronic health conditions, such as cancer, chronic pain, and diabetes. My clients also come for help with grief and loss.

Services I offer include individual therapy, couples counseling, and psychological evaluations for medical procedures (e.g., bariatric surgery, spinal cord stimulator trial). I use evidence-based psychological treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My style is collaborative, goal-oriented, and supportive.

I earned my doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the University of Houston and completed my predoctoral internship at Baylor College of Medicine in geriatric mental health care. Most recently, I completed my postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where I worked with patients with cancer-related pain and body image concerns.

At the present time, I accept Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, SmartHealth/Seton Employee Health Plan, TRICARE, UT Employee Assistance Program, out of network benefits, and private pay.

Please do contact me for more information. I would welcome the opportunity to work with you.
